How much does it cost to register?
Registration fees vary depending upon when you sign-up for PWP. Details can be found on our ABOUT PWP and REGISTER pages of our website.
Where do I pick up my packet and what is included in it?
Multiple packet pick-up dates are planned. Our first will be on June 9 at Fleet Feet Sports Louisville, followed by our second on June 10 at The Comfy Cow (Highlands location). As well, packets can be picked-up the morning of our events (prior) in Cherokee Park. As we near our event date, specific details will be posted on our EVENTS page of our website. PWP participants receive what is quickly becoming known as one of Louisville racing's best good bags complete with fitted t-shirt, Pride Socks, race bib, admission to the PWP post-race party and much more!
I want to support PWP, but I’m out of town that weekend or I don’t want to wake up so early, can I still support the race?
Yes! Choose our "SLEEP-IN" donation on the REGISTER page of our website to still be a proud part of PWP Nation, claim your swag, enjoy the added benefit of extra "zzzz's," all the while still making the famed PWP post-race party!
Can I register on race morning?
Yes, if space remains, but why take that chance...register early! Registration for any remaining spots in PWP will be available race morning beginning starting at 7am until 8:00am.
How far is a 5K?
A 5K is 3.1 miles. You'll love the course thought Louisville's Cherokee Park whether you choose to walk or run!
Is the event timed?
Yes! Our 5K run/walk will be timed, with overall male, female, and transgender participants receiving an award, as well as the top participant in each age group.
How is my timing chip activated?
All timing chips are attached to the inside of all race bibs. Chips will be automatically activated by crossing the timing mat at the start line.
May walkers participate in the 5K?
Yes! Walk, run, skip, hop, jump...just participate. We welcome any and all individuals proud to proclaim their membership in PWP Nation!
Can I run the PWP 5K without registering?
No, all runners without PWP 5K bibs will be immediately directed off the course. It's all for a great cause so register and join the journey!
Are strollers allowed at the PWP 5K?
Yes, and we highly encourage family participation! We simply ask that anyone using a stroller please start at the back of the field for everyone's safety.
What type of race shirts are provided?
Each participant will receive a custom designed PWP 5K race shirt.
Can I exchange my t-shirts?
Exchanges can be made at packet pick-up if inventory is available.
Where is the start line?
Both the start and finish lines (the same point) are at Hogan’s Fountain/Pavilion in Cherokee Park.
Are dogs allowed at the PWP 5K?
Yes! If you decide to run with your 4-legged family member, please start in the back of the field for safety reason and be mindful of the leash.
Is there an age limit at the PWP 5K?
No, there is no age limit. Younger runners are welcome and encouraged to participate, but we've also created the Comfy Cow Chase kid's fun run (for ages 12 and under) to have something for everyone.
Can someone else pick-up my race packet for me?
Yes, they are welcome to pick-up your packet for you. Any individual claiming a packet for other registrants will need a copy of your race confirmation e-mail to complete.
Can friends and family attend the after party even if they did not participate in the race?
Yes! Friends, family and more are all welcome at the PWP post-race party to help celebrate your PROUD accomplishment! Entry to the PWP post-race party is included for all PWP participants and those making a "SLEEP-IN" donation. All others are welcome to attend the party with a suggested charitable donation at the party's entrance.
I registered for the PWP 5K but now can't participate, can I receive a refund?
Unfortunately, we are not able to issue refunds for the PWP 5K. If you can't make it to the run, you can still pick-up your packet prior to or after the event.
Is there a charity partner for the PWP 5K?
Yes! PWP organizers have selected YMCA Safe Place Services as our 2016 charity partner. For more details, go to our CHARITY page of our website.
What time does the finish line close?
Our finish line will close at 9:30am, but PWP/CCC festivities will continue until 10:30am at Hogan’s Fountain/Pavilion.
What will the end of race festivities include?
PWP committee members are hard at work planning this year's version of the PWP post-race party to be held at Bearno's Pizza (Highlands location)! We want to provide a celebration of PWP Nation and our community after the race.
